James had a cold and unfortunately passed his germs on to our Idaho family. I still feel guilt over that, but I gotta say I'm still grateful we got to visit with everyone. My kids are gonna talk about this trip for weeks to come. Thanks for the fun Hollie, Sean, Jordan, Keegan, and Joe- We love you guys!

My name is Keegan...
Hollie made up a funny song about Keegan, that the kids and I learned and were singing the whole week we were in Idaho. It goes like this- My name is Keegan, and I'm so big- I wear size 3 diapers- I'm gonna take you down, to the ground- boom baby boom- boom baby boom- ba ba ba ba boom baby boom! The tune is really cathcy too. Keegan is almost a year old and delighted us all on our visit.
Play-Doh...Uh-Oh
For spring break this year I drove 6 hours to Idaho to visit my brother (Joe), sister (Hollie), brother in law (Sean) and nephews (Jordan and Keegan). We had such a fun visit, full of fun things that the kids don't usually get to do at home. The kids asked Uncle Sean if they could play with play-doh and he said SURE! Now I did warn Sean about the mess my kids were capable of making, but he decided to go for it anyway. As I helped him clean up the aftermath, I could tell he had never seen a play-doh mess like the one my kids made.
James at 5 months
Here's our family's main source of entertainment- Jamesy James. He's beginning to roll the places he wants to be, he loves to eat his toes, and he's going for a record in drooling. All objects within his grasp go directly into his mouth for slobbers. He's got a smile for just about anyone right now. He's a happy and content little baby. Jeremy and I are so grateful for our James.

Sing it with PIZAZZ
Carter had a choir concert at school this week, and he likes to sing loud. When he was a couple years younger he used to sing all around the house as well. He also likes to be a ham for the camera. The challenge I face in photographing my family is... Carter is a facial contortionist, Madison is a blinker, Grant is an eye averter, and James will look at everything BUT the camera. So if you see pictures on this blog in which ALL my children are looking at the camera, it should be known it was a miraculous moment in photography!

St. Patrick's and Self-Managers
Some school happenings...Carter has earned a self-manager badge at school which means he's consistently making good choices in the classroom. He's been working hard to earn this so...three cheers for Carter- Hip Hip Hooray! Madison and Hannah are decked out for St. Patrick's Day. They wanted to make absolutely sure they would not be pinched.

Wonder Chess
I found this game at Barnes n Noble and thought it was such a great way to learn chess that I bought it. Each chess piece is hollow with a cap to put on the bottom. I put an assortment of fun candy inside the chess pieces and each time one is taken that player gets a treat. Jeremy already knew how to play chess, but now the kids and I are learning as well. GAME ON!
Winter Ends With a Blast!
Just four days away from the start of spring we were ambushed by snow. When it snowed in December I was too sick to take any photos, so I made sure to get outside and capture some this snowy Sunday. The children (and me) gleefully received the news that church was cancelled as we were putting on their snow pants to go outside.
MORE Snow Pictures
Jeremy was at the church for early morning meetings during the snowfall and our car was covered with a few inches of white stuff by the time he came home. He had to brush the snow off the car before he could park it in the garage. After he went inside to change, the kids came in and needed to be warmed up with some hot chocolate. By early afternoon the sun had come out and the snow was melting away. I wasn't too sad though because I'm hoping for a warm spring to thaw out my cold winter bones.
Grease Monkey's
Jeremy had some minor repairs to do on the van and the boys wanted to get in on the action. Not only do they gravitate towards grease and grime, they also enjoy helping their dad whenever possible because they love spending time with him. He's pretty much the favorite parent round these here parts. I guess my envy voice has a western accent.
