Napolean Dynamite Dancin'

We had a dinner at church recently that the YM were in charge of coordinating (Jeremy is still the YM Pres). It had a "souper" bowl theme, with Madison and her friends doing the Napolean Dynamite Dance at half-time. Jeremy also did a balloon animal station, but the kids didn't want to wait for the balloons to be shapen, they just wanted the plain old balloons.

For anyone who hasn't seen ND here's a sweet qoute:

Pedro: Do you think people will vote for me?
Napoleon Dynamite: Heck yes! I'd vote for you.
Pedro: Like what are my skills?
Napoleon Dynamite: Well, you have a sweet bike. And you're really good at hooking up with chicks. Plus you're like the only guy at school who has a mustache.

Race to the finish!

Madison won first place in a fun run she went to with some friends on the base recently (a race she wasn't initially that excited to do). She was pleased she won, though she speculated if she could get an even better time for her mile if she was "in shape".
The race cars are from a soap box derby that Carter did again for cub scouts this year and Madison's shop class which had a bottle rocket car race.

Loving the Candy

Will my kids always be more concerned about the candy they get on Valentines day more than anything else- maybe not, but it's sweet while it lasts. Carter does have a temporary girlfriend (Gabby) at school, though I told him that eventually she'd break up with him- because that's how 3rd graders are. Then I warned him that she'd probably want to be girlfriend once more shortly after the "break-up". I then explained to Carter that when this happened he could save himself some heartache by telling Gabby that his mom said he couldn't have a girlfriend untill he's sixteen. The things I fortold did happen and Carter wonders how I knew they would. He thinks I might have the power to see the future. A good Mom might have said no to that, but I told him it was possible- just to keep him guessing about other things I might "know".

Once in a while...

I find some pictures on my camera that I didn't take. This is unusual and when it does happen I always wonder where the heck I was when they were being taken...
