I don't remember whose idea this was but it was fun! A bit of silliness is good for the soul. I wonder if this is a preview of the facial hair we'll have when we're old ladies... That's a scary thought!

James has his baby...
Being so cute and having a baby of your own can be exhausting! James has been saying he has a girl baby in his tummy for months and she came out on the fourth. The baby doll in his picture is what his baby looks like. I can't believe she was in his tummy bc she is huge! Congratulations James (hee hee hee)

Nervous Innkeeper, Mad Cow, and Happy Narrator
Carter was the third innkeeper and right before his part in the Nativity play he became a basket case and was convinced he would not be able to remember his lines. He had already memorized them, but needed to be reassured that he would do a great job. He is continually concerned with doing his best. Not a bad quality to have. Grant was upset that he had to be an animal again this year and asked "When do I get to be a human?". Madison narrated instead of being part of the angel choir this and she was very articulate. Jeremy helped with the set-up earlier in the day. I sang with the YW, took photos, and made awesome crock pot stuffing to bring. We had a great time celebrating the birth of Christ. We love Jesus.

Those aren't people...

Well a little blurb for any of my WA friends who might be missing me since I've been on vaca for quite a while now... I AM eventually coming home, and YES there is such a thing as too much "vacation". Anyways, Madison and I were strollering James along a path around a park while Carter and Grant were playing (actually they were trying to knock a butterfly out of the air by throwing a stick at it- my little angels). Suddenly a stick comes hurtling towards us, and we're forced to dodge it. I'm a good dodger because Carter has inadvertently thrown so many things in my direction throughout his life. Some older folks sitting on a bench saw the stick attack and said "Be careful with that stick because you almost hit those people walking over there". Carter promptly responded "Those aren't people... that's my mom and sister." The bench crowd started snickering while Carter remained oblivious that he said anything funny. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make antenna motions with my hands atop my head while saying we were aliens.

Punk Po
Why couldn't I have school assignments like this when I was a kid? Madison had to come up with a design for a potato to take to school and this is what she ended up doing. She expressed a wish that she could keep her potato forever, while hugging it and looking forlorn. I said that would be bad in a very smelly way. Instead we took a picture of it that she can look at in the future when she's missing her punked-out potato.

Celebrating the birth of Christ
It's time to celebrate the birth of Christ. The kids participated in the Nativity pagent at our church- Madison sang with the angel choir, Carter was an innkeeper, Grant was a donkey, and James had the starring role of Baby Jesus. Some moments of interest during the Nativity came when Grant's costume started tearing and he walked over to us (we were in the front row) to ask us to fix it. He proceeded to ask us, in a loud voice, why he had to be a donkey AGAIN this year. We fixed the donkey's costume and sent him back to the animal grouping. That's when we noticed our innkeeper crawling around with the animals, mooing and braying. Baby Jesus continued to sleep during the entire event, soothed by the beautiful choir of angels.
