My Two Lil' Angels

Carter's baseball coach from last year is allowing Grant to play up a year and be on the same team as Carter. So instead of another year of T-ball, Grant gets to play with the Angels coach pitch team. Seeing these boys in their matching uniforms almost makes me feel like they could do no wrong. However just moment after these pictures were taken and we were on our way to a game, they were arguing in the back of the van. Maybe if I put Angels shirts on them every day some angelic qualities will soak in?

Colored Eggs with Cheesy Pizza- YUM

We didn't set up the card table to do the eggs this year so I was disgruntled when clean up time came around and there was colored dye all over the countertops. But besides my grumpiness afterward we had fun dipping and decorating eggs. Grant's eggs kept jumping off the spoon spontaneously (kinda like Grant himself). Madison came in late to the egg-dying because she had been at a fireside with Jeremy so she kept her eggs simple this year. Carter dunked his eggs in almost every color he could (he seems to use this same decorating technique every year).

Later in the week we went to Carter's choir performance at school. He is a natural ham. He sang the songs with lots of expression and made me smile. One of the songs he sang went like this... Pizza, I like pizza, pepperoni pizza... with cheeeeeeeese!

Easy egg hunt? I Don't Think So!

I went a bit crazy hiding the eggs and the kids had to spend about 30 minutes to find all the tricky spots I hid the eggs in. Hey- my brother, sister, and I used to have pretend egg hunts at my Grandma's house for weeks after Easter with the empty plastic eggs. Hiding them is more fun then hunting for them (right Joe & Hollie?). I hide things from myself in my own house on a daily basis. Of course it's unintentional then...

"HOT Maggots"

Easter morning arrived and the bunny brought goodies AND snuggly sleeping bags. We stayed in them and listened to General Conference and were as cozy as could be. Carter was running around in his bag (yes you can run in a sleeping bag) for so long that he claimed he felt like a HOT maggot. We all laughed hysterically at this comment for way too long due to the amount of sugar we had been eating. I want to hug the person that came up with the Cadbury Egg. Thank goodness I can only buy them at Easter time. Since it was a GC day Jeremy also made Cinnamon Rolls (part of the reason our kids cheer when they find out we're having a GC weekend).
Jamesy didn't get his own sleeping bag because we knew he would burrow into one of ours and be happy. He does love a good snuggle, our little snuggle-bean.

Who Is Your Hero?

I got to dress up as Ruth and tell my scripture story at the Faith in God for Girls training we gave as a Stake Primary this month. The girls listened to the stories of Eve, Ruth, Esther, and Emma, and then made a modge podge frame of their favorite scripture heroine.

Our Favorite Park

When we have a spare moment to run off and play somewhere my kids request this park more than any other. Living so close to the water here is such a blessing. We recently got a small sailboat from Jeremy's brother and now were just biding our time until the weather is warm enough to take it out. Carter loves to take eels out from under rocks at this park and he's taught Jamesy how to catch them.

Critters at the Blue and Gold Dinner

Carter led the flag ceremony at the Blue and Gold dinner for Cub Scouts. He did a great job. Jeremy and I were proud of him. I got a mother's pin from Carter and he earned his Bobcat. If any of you are unfamiliar with Cub Scout lingo they have to earn the Bobcat badge prior to getting their Wolf badge, which is what he's working towards this year. He wanted to bring the critters he had built for the display of stuff Cub Scouts have made.

"New Beginnings" sometimes cause us to trip up!

Okay I think I mentioned in a previous post that Madison tends to injure her face more than any other part of herself... well here we go again. Her Ipod startled her while she was on my new treadmill (yes I have been inspired by my siblings health improvements) and she tripped and burned her face on the running rubber mat- along with her arm. Just a couple of days later she sang for the first time with Young Women's for New Beginnings.
Madison hasn't gotten on the treadmill much since the unfortunate incident, but I have- it's awsome!

Just call me Hans Solo

Went on a trip to Idaho again with just me and the kids over spring break. If James can wear the big boots I can drive solo to Idaho to see my fam- right? Hollie and Joe were both looking fantastic (note the tinge of envy in my writing). They've been doing a biggest loser competition through work and they are both making better food choices and working out. That box of Ramen is not an idicator of what they've been eating. While we were in Idaho the big boys got to go camping with Uncle Sean. They got to do donuts in the truck, roast stuff over the fire, tell ghost stories, etc. They had heaps and gobs of fun (thanks Sean). While the boys were roughing it, the girls (and baby boys) ate at Red Robin and shopped. Everyone went to an aquatic center together before we left Idaho that was awesome. We had lots of adventure on our Spring Break, but it went by quicker than a Jedi.

Spring Flowers

Here are the shots I had to bribe the kids with park time to get. I love flowers and children together in photographs. The sun was too much for Carter while I was taking these pictures and he almost died from squinting, just had to let ya know...

Nice day? Go OUT to play!

When the weather up here is beautiful we naturally gravitate outdoors. We love to monkey around at the parks. Welcome Welcome Spring and warmer weather- We have missed you!

Calling All Chickens

Grant's choir show this year was a Barnyard Moosical and he made a great chicken. He was a bit embarrassed to sing out and do his very best. When I asked him why that was he said he still doesn't like doing animal parts in shows (GO back to Dec.09 Nativity post for more insight). I had the funky chicken song they sang stuck in my head for a whole week following this performance. "Doin the funky chicken, c'mon yo, doing the funky chicken dance..."
