Let the Goodie Parade Begin!

We've been goodie-making for various activites as of late. We want our little Largey's to enjoy making things in the kitchen. The "Gator Cake" was for a cub scout Dad/Son cake contest (Carter won and got a box of checkers and Jerm showed him how to play). The "What a Hoot" cupcakes were made by Madison and a friend for YW/YM dessert auction for camp. I also made the "Pudding Palooza" for the camp fundraiser. Yum yum lotsa fun.

Berry Pretty Scent

While camping we stopped to pick some juicy berries and smell some lovely lavendar. James really loved eating those berries- the evidence is on his berry stained cheeks. I loved the photos I got most of all, plus the yummy cobbler we made out of the berries later.

Madison's Piano Recital

Here's Madison at her second piano recital with Miss M. The two song she performed were called Midnight Ride and Andante Cantabile. She played beautifully and I think she was slightly less nervous than she was last year. Progress!

Blown Away

It was extremely windy on the ferry ride back from the festival. We would put James down on the ferry deck then laugh as the wind would blow him around. He was laughing so hard that it made him fall over even more.

Mt. Vernon Tulip Street Fair

We walked about the tulip fair after seeing the fields. The boys enjoyed some cotton candy but we gawked at booths of stuff for too long and missed our fair food opportunity. Nobody told us they closed at the food stands at 6:00. The Shiskaberries had looked especially tempting, but I told Amelia "We can make chocolate covered strawberries ourselves!"

Then Amelia told me that I had been making comments like that repeatedly about many of the items we'd seen. For example- we could make that jewelery ourselves, or knit a hat like that ourselves, or create art ourselves... Apparently I just think we're all that and a bag of chips to be able to have the potential to make whatever we want.

Everyone has these on their face...

It's been a dream of mine to go to the tulip festival here in Washington ever since I heard there was one. While Amelia was here visiting we decided to go see the tulip fields. It was truly amazing to see the vivid lakes of color swimming before my eyes. The boys did not appreciate my dream (except for Jeremy) but I think all of us girls enjoyed the outing. I took a bajillion picture but I'm only posting less than twenty.

Sister Largey- Home From Latvia!!!

We flew Amelia up for a visit and had the bestest time with her! She had complied a slide show of her mission adventures to share with us and told us about some of her experiences. It was awesome to hear about all she'd been doing the last year and a half of her life, but mostly we loved getting to spend time with her. Jamesy was happy to meet her and kept looking around the house for her repeatedly after she left to go back to school. We love you Amelia and wish we could keep up hidden away at our house permanently!

Batting Practice

We've got baseball fever! Jeremy has been pitching to the kids whenever it's been okay weather-wise outside. Carter asks him the most frequently to come outside and play ball. Carter still hits the ball really hard, but Jeremy continues to bravely pitch to him. Seeing Madison take a swing today was fun as well. I asked her if she ever wanted to play a season and she said she prefers soccer over baseball.
