Party Time- EXCELLENT!

We partied at the Grange and Chuckie Cheese for the end of season baseball celebrations. James liked to get on the stage with Chuckie.

Leagues ahead in TRACK

Madison got a trophy at the track banquet that she missed due to a headache. She really didn't think she'd get anything and was super surprised to get a text from her friend Josie saying- Where are you? You just got a trophy for most improved!
She always strove to improve her best times and got to go to League as a Varsity track member because of her determination. I'm going to post her events and times after vacation (when she can help me find the certificates in her room).

Crazy Hair Day

Carter and Grant rocked some crazy hair for a spirit day at school this week. They let me use gel in their hair!! One could argue that Grant's hair always looks "crazy"- at least according to his sister. James just wished he had crazy hair too.

Memorial Day Breakfast

Here we are playing at a church breakfast at the Fairgrounds. Well- Jeremy and I are in our yard since once again I got NO pictures of myself at the park and realized it once we were already home. I've been getting chastized by my mom for not putting any pictures of me and my tummy on the blog so, here ya go mom!

Cardinal #7

Carter really honed in on a good batting stance this season and hit his first in-park home run. He liked being in kid pitch this year and getting to play against some of his friends teams. He said the biggest challenge was learning to wait for the good pitches. By the end of the season he was better at this and was nicknamed "Sonic Swing" by Coach Rich.

Dodger #15

Grant got his first "double" this season and Coach Matt told us he thought Grant was the player with the most improvement this season. Grant had a great time playing, except for the really rainy games, which even he couldn't say he enjoyed. Hip Hip Hooray for a season well-played!!!

Banging up baseballs and arms

Carter is on a kid pitch team this year and Grant is doing his second year of coach pitch. They've been so excited to play, but the weather isn't cooperating up here and it keeps raining during their games.
Another unfortunate piece of news- James broke his left arm on April 30 by rolling off the bed in my room and landing on top of his arm. He was already wearing a walking boot as well because he sprang his left ankle on trampoline on Easter Sunday. So, many people were casting him sorrowful glances this month as we went out and about together as he looked pretty gimpy for a while. But James was a trooper, and I think he complained less than I did about the cast and the boot.

Colors and Candy

Here's the kids with their baskets of cavity makers- oops I mean candy. Plus us dying Easter eggs. James was thrilled to see the eggs change colors (last year he was too little to include in the egg-dying activity). His squeals of delight made me feel happy even when cleaning up all the colored dye drops on my kitchen floor.

A hunting we will go...

We got to hunt for Easter eggs twice this year- at our friends the Hatch's on Saturday and at home in our side yard on Sunday. We also found some real eggs beneath our outgrown grass this month too much to our surprise. I didn't know birds laid eggs on the ground. Seems risky to me- espacially in our yard!
